Character Development Follow-up Activities

Follow-up Activities

  1. After clarifying their personal values, ask members to create a personal contract/agreement to emphasize consistent action. This can be done as an individual assignment after a chapter meeting and discussed in a future meeting.
  2. Ask members to keep a personal journal to document their inconsistent and consistent behaviors. They can use the values they identified as their "core" on the Personal Core Values Worksheet.
  3. At a chapter meeting ask members to pair up with someone they joined the chapter with and discuss a time when they were in conflict with another person and identify the competing values at the heart of the conflict (e.g., trust vs. respect, honesty vs. friendship).
  4. Ask members to gather with other women from their class (year in school) and discuss how their chosen career supports their personal values.
  5. Ask members to write a note/letter to someone who shaped their personal value system and tell them how they impacted them.
