The National Panhellenic Conference
is aware of recent media coverage regarding Delta Zeta Sorority, one
of its member groups, and DePauw University.
The Panhellenic community on any
campus is at its strongest when all chapters, their volunteer alumnae
advisors, their respective national organizations, and the host
institution work together to create an environment in which the students
have an opportunity to develop friendships and learn life skills.
“In any situation there is an
opportunity for misunderstanding and miscommunication,” explains NPC
Chairman Elizabeth Quick. “All National Panhellenic Conference member groups
offer an environment for their members to grow, give, lead and
succeed. We support Delta Zeta Sorority and DePauw University in their
efforts to seek a positive outcome.”
The National Panhellenic Conference,
founded in 1902, is the coordinating organization for 26 inter/national
women's fraternities and sororities. Each member group is autonomous as a
social, Greek-letter society of college women and alumnae. Members are
represented on over 620 college and university campuses in the United
States and Canada and in over 4,600 alumnae associations, making up over
3.8 million sorority women in the world.
