ELC Applicant Questionnaire

1.  Please write a 500-word essay about your reasons for applying for the Educational Leadership Consultant position.  Include your expectations of the position and your particular strengths that would be beneficial in this capacity.

 

Short Answer Questions

1. With your current understanding of the ELC position, what do you feel would be the most challenging, and what would come most naturally?
2.  People have different experiences that help them grow in distinct ways.  Discuss a significant Alpha Phi experience in your life that has helped you grow and how this experience relates to the ELC position and responsibilities.
3.  Identify what you think is the most critical issue our chapters face and how you think the fraternity can begin to resolve this issue?
4.  Please prioritize the following roles of an ELC with 1 being the most significant role to you and 8 being the least significant to you.  In your list, provide a brief reason why you have ranked each role as you have.  Keep in mind there is no one correct answer to this question.
  • SISTER – developing positive relationships with collegiate members, alumnae, volunteers, and staff.
     

  • AUTHORITY – responding to problems in the chapter or Greek community and working with members to resolve the issues surrounding inappropriate behavior, actions, and attitudes.
     

  • ADMINISTRATOR – duties include completing reports, retrieving information for collegiate members, following up with fellow staff members, meeting with chapter/alumni officers, etc.
     

  • FACILITATOR – delivering presentations, messages, and workshops to collegiate chapters in the areas of recruitment, new member education, officer transition, scholarship, philanthropy, and other areas in order to support, train, and educate members.
     

  • RESOURCE – acting as a resource about Alpha Phi’s purpose and mission and referring others to committees/departments, staff members, alumnae, and manuals as necessary.
     

  • ROLE MODEL – modeling mature behavior and attitudes consistent with Alpha Phi’s purpose, policy, and mission.
     

  • TEACHER – informing and educating members concerning their roles and responsibilities in the chapter, and presenting information that will help them achieve personal, leadership, and academic goals.
     

  • INDIVIDUAL – concentrating on personal goals, not just to role model, but to continue learning and growing as a person.
