Dear Alpha Phi
Official Family:
The Board of
Directors and the Alpha Phi Foundation
Nominations Commission are pleased to announce
three new members who will join Foundation Board
of Directors for the 2006-2008 biennium:
Sheri Allen
(Delta Delta, Oklahoma City), Los Angeles, Calif.
Since graduating from college, Sheri has become
very active with both the Fraternity and
Foundation. She currently serves on the
Foundation’s development committee, is a former
Loyola Marymount chapter adviser, and was a
member of the Fraternity’s finance standing
committee. Sheri has an extensive background in
business, finance, and investments at the
corporate level, and is a trustee for her family
foundation.
Cathy Stembridge
(Omicron-Missouri), Evanston, Ill.
Cathy is currently Associate Vice President of
the Office of Alumni Relations and Development
for Northwestern University in Evanston. Her
responsibilities include serving as executive
director of the Northwestern Alumni Association
with oversight of the association’s 50-member
national board. She also serves on the
five-member executive committee, leading the
operation for 180 development and alumni
relations officers. Cathy’s Alpha Phi
connections have been strong since her college
days where she served as chapter vice-president
and president. She traveled as a Field
Representative and held a number of positions in
the Alpha Phi Executive Office including
assistant general manager for the Fraternity.
She also worked with Martha Mast, the
Foundation’s first Chair, in the 1970's and
80's. Cathy serves on the board of the Evanston
Lighthouse Rotary Club and is vice-chair of the
club’s community service committee.
Diane Straker
(Delta Alpha-East Carolina), Reston, Va.
Diane’s Alpha Phi leadership experience started
in college when she served as pledge class
president and vice president-scholarship. Some
of her official titles as an alumna include
finance adviser to the University of Maryland,
District Governor and Executive Board vice
president of finance and housing.
Professionally, she
has held several positions in the finance and
business management arenas where she was
responsible for contracts, procurement,
purchasing, property and estimating for
organizations with revenues in excess of $50
million. She also owned her own firm, conducting
project management and financial management
training.

The Foundation
Board of Directors joins me to thank Commission
Chairman Gayle Goodman (Beta Delta-UCLA), Ann
Brinkman, Jennifer Holsman (Gamma Pi-Arizona
State), Brenda Sanders Mullins (Delta Alpha-
East Carolina) and Alin Hernandez Wall (Beta
Delta-UCLA) for serving and working tirelessly
on the 2006-08 Nominations Commission since
November 2005. (As you know, the By-Laws of the
Foundation are separate and different from those
of the Fraternity, and provide that a Nominating
Commission will nominate Directors and officers
of the Foundation. The Board as a whole then
votes on such nominations.)
We also thank all
the talented and well-qualified Alpha Phis who
were nominated and applied for Foundation Board
positions.
Please join me to
congratulate and welcome our new board members.
But also join me to say thank you to outgoing
directors Gayle Goodman and Alin Wall and
outgoing IEB President Crista Cate Vasina (Delta
Gamma-Northern Colorado) for their tireless work
with the Alpha Phi Foundation Board of
Directors. We look forward to their
contributions as volunteers in new capacities!
