NFL
Cheerleader Performs at Pro Bowl
Kelly Randazzo
(Theta Nu-Appalachian State) was selected as an NFL
Pro Bowl cheerleader and performed during the game in Honolulu, Hawaii, on
Saturday, Feb. 10, televised on CBS®.
Each NFL team that has cheerleaders sends one representative to the Pro
Bowl. Kelly, who has represented the Carolina
Panthers NFL football team as a TopCat cheerleader
for four years and served as a squad captain for the
past two, says she was excited to represent her squad
and the team: “This award is a huge honor, and I
feel so blessed to be representing the organization
in Hawaii.”
Kelly was selected for
the recognition by her peers when they chose her as
2006 “TopCat of the Year.” Voted on by squad
members, the award is presented to someone with
strong dance ability, excellent leadership,
dedication and community service.
Those selected as Pro
Bowl cheerleaders arrived in Hawaii the week leading
up to the game to act as ambassadors for the NFL:
making numerous appearances, performing and
rehearsing around the clock.
Kelly, who also works
full-time as a business deposits officer, says, “We
each received a DVD with our dance routines on it
and were expected to have learned all 12 routines
prior to our arrival in Hawaii.”
The week culminated
with the women cheering and performing those
routines during the Pro Bowl at Aloha Stadium. For more information
