Hand to Hand. Heart to Heart.

Alpha Phis are sisters for life – we support one another and help each other in times of need. To complement existing Alpha Phi services to assist members facing serious health problems, natural disasters or other crises, here you will find some of these special and unique requests when it is most needed.

An Alpha Phi sister is in need of our help.  Janet Peale Lambert (Beta Pi - University of Southern California) is battling lymphoma and requires a bone marrow transplant.  All Alpha Phis are urged to join the Bone Marrow Registry.  It is a simple process to register.  Log on to www.marrow.org to see if there is an upcoming drive in your area, or inquire at your local hospitals.  In the L.A. area, you can contact City of Hope (cityofhope.org).

Janet, who lives in the San Fernando Valley in Southern California, is a middle school teacher.  She has remained strong and optimistic through years of cancer treatment, not only for lymphoma, but breast cancer as well.  She is currently receiving chemotherapy until a match can be found.  Janet has not only continued teaching during treatment, but running as well!  She is very grateful for the support of her husband, Mike, and her friends and family.  We are hopeful that a match can be found.
