Alpha Phi Foundation Announces New Executive
Director
This year is sure
to be one of the most significant moments in the
Foundation’s history, beginning with the celebration
of our 50th anniversary in June.
We’re awarding more
dollars in scholarship than ever before with a
commitment to grant $150,000 this year. Our
mission
to support women’s heart health is headline news and
becoming even more relevant to women’s lifestyles
today – and we’re proud to be on the forefront of
educating women about taking heart for
themselves, their daughters, and future generations.
And we’ve funded a new, progressive leadership
training initiative through the Alpha Phi Fraternity
that will be announced at Convention.
There’s
no doubt our focus on the
mission of the Foundation is steadfast.
To ensure we continue
this progress moving forward, one of the most
important decisions we’ll make this year is the
hiring of our Executive Director.
With that said, on
behalf of the Board of Directors I am very pleased
to announce the appointment of Emily Ellison Lamb
(Gamma Iota-Texas Tech) to Foundation Executive
Director effective immediately.
We hired Emily
initially to serve as interim ED. She came to this
role with a great deal of experience from traveling
as an ELC and working for the Foundation for three
years as the manager of public relations.
Emily’s major
responsibilities as ED will be creating, managing,
and implementing annual fundraising efforts,
continuing to strengthen the Foundation’s public
image, ensuring that the Foundation is among the top
women’s Greek foundations with regard to annual
giving, working in tandem with the Fraternity staff,
and managing the daily operations of the office.
In this position
Emily will report directly to the Foundation Board
of Directors. She can be reached at 847.316.8950 or
elamb@alphaphi.org.
I want to extend a
special thanks to the Foundation Executive Director
Search Committee members – Michelle Marchant, Amy
Tvrdik, Crista Vasina and Susan Zabriskie – who
worked with me tirelessly and thoughtfully through
the search process, step by steady step. Also, thank
you to everyone who provided names of potential
candidates to us throughout this process. Your
contacts and recommendations were very helpful.
I am
confident that Emily’s rich Alpha Phi experience,
results oriented philosophy and commitment to
furthering the Foundation’s mission will help
position us for a strong future.
Please
join me in congratulating Emily and her husband
Andrew on this well deserved appointment!
With heartfelt
thanks,
Susan Weiskittle Barrick (Beta Omicron–Bowling Green
State)
