EVANSTON, ILL. – Alpha Phi International
Fraternity installed its elected 2006-08
International Executive Board (IEB) members during
Alpha Phi’s biennial Convention on July 1 in
Orlando, Fla.
Board members include: President Laura
Malley-Schmitt of Bedminster, N.J.; Vice President
Susan Sherratt of Alameda, Calif.; Secretary and
Treasurer Billie Battiato of Tulsa, Okla.; Jane
Arkes of Portland, Ore.; Bonnie Arthur of Arlington,
Va.; Linda Boland of Yucaipa, Calif.; Deana Gage of
Stephenville, Texas; Shana Smith of Port Gamble,
Wash.; and Lindsay Wiggins of Los Angeles, Calif.
All IEB members are active Alpha Phi volunteers
and have served the fraternity in various capacities
at local, regional and national levels.
Malley-Schmitt and Boland have served on the IEB in
previous years. Sherratt, Battiato, Gage and Smith
are serving their second consecutive term on the
board. Wiggins is serving her third consecutive term
on the board.
Alpha Phi International Fraternity was founded at
Syracuse University in 1872 as one of the first
Greek societies for women. Alpha Phi is dedicated to
promoting sisterhood, cultivating leadership,
encouraging intellectual curiosity and advocating
service. The organization is comprised of more than
140 collegiate chapters and more than 130 alumnae
chapters throughout the United States and Canada.
The Alpha Phi Foundation is the fraternity’s
philanthropic and educational partner. Through
contributions from chapters, individual members and
friends, the foundation supports women’s cardiac
health and other charitable and educational
projects. Together, Alpha Phi International
Fraternity and Foundation develop character for a
lifetime.
