Registration and
Authentication:
Alpha Phi International will make sure that only Alpha Phis have
access to our Online Community. All Online Community services will be
private, secure and accessible only to individuals who register for
access.

Online Directory: The secure Online
Directory requires user authentication described above, thus assuring
that only alumnae view the entries. Searching for sisters in the
Online Directory is easy, and alumnae visiting the Online Directory
are able to retrieve data on all
alumnae, not just those who have registered! Another important
component of the Online Directory is the ability to update your name
and address information with the Executive Office. Once your new
information is recorded in the Online Directory, Alpha Phi will be
able to update that information into our database. Are you worried
about your privacy? We have incorporated several features into the
design of the Online Directory to protect your privacy. By checking
boxes within your directory profiles, you can selectively hide any
field(s) of data within your profiles from public view or hide your
entire directory listing, and the Online Directory’s searching
feature accounts for these privacy settings. Should your profile match
a search being performed, with the searching field being hidden from
public view, your profile will
not display on any search results page.

Permanent
E-mail Address: Do you want just one e-mail address for the rest of your
life? Would you like to have an Alpha Phi e-mail address? A permanent
e-mail address with “@alumnae.alphaphi.org”
as the domain gives you a lifelong identification with Alpha Phi while
providing a valuable service. This feature allows you to perpetually
identify yourself as an Alpha Phi alumna, while opting to forward mail
sent to the Alpha Phi address to any valid e-mail account of your
choosing.

Career
Center: You can share career advice and information, take
advantage of online career counseling and link to other career-related
sites. Alumnae can either offer or solicit career
mentoring opportunities for sisters.

Forget-Me-Not
Chapter Homepages: Are you a member of a closed collegiate chapter?
Forget-me-not chapter homepages allow members of some closed
collegiate chapters to create and maintain Web pages. Alpha Phi
will determine the layout of the chapter pages, and a member of the
chapter will manage her chapter's Web pages.

Broadcast
E-mail: Do you wish to know the latest news from the EO? Broadcast
e-mail allows EO staff
members to instantly communicate with anyone in the Online Directory.
If you wish to decline receiving e-mail broadcasts, you can indicate
this preference by replying to the e-mail and checking a box at the
bottom of the message.

Online
Survey: Alpha Phi wants to know what you are thinking! Each week,
we will create a new survey question to make sure we are in tune with
the thoughts and needs of our members. Answering these questions will
help us stay in touch with you.

How to get started
Each individual must register
online to get started. You will need to have your membership ID number
the first time you visit the Online Community. Without this number,
you will be unable to complete the registration process. This can be
found in one of two places:
1.
On your membership card you received after you paid your
International Alumnae Dues, or
2.
On the back page of your Quarterly magazine. Your
membership number is above your name on the label.
If you are unable to locate your
membership number in either of these locations, you may contact
alumnae@alphaphi.org
and someone will respond to your request within 10-14 business days.

I have my membership ID number, now how do I
register?
·
To begin, first go to the Online Community and click on the
text link, “CLICK TO JOIN NOW”.
·
After reviewing the welcome page, you will be asked to
search for your name in the Online Directory database of eligible
members. Type in your last name, first name and zip code. If you are
unable to find yourself, try using just your last name and try your
maiden name also.
·
Once you find your name and confirm that “It’s me,”
you will be prompted to proceed by entering in your membership ID
number. Without your membership ID number, you will be unable to
complete the registration process.

When do I select a User ID?
|
|
Once you verify yourself with
your membership ID number, you will be asked to complete the
registration process by choosing a unique User ID and password.
You will then use this new User ID and password anytime you want
to access the community. You will no longer need your membership
ID number. Your User ID must be between 6 and 20 characters long
of alphanumeric characters and underscores.

Who is in the Online Directory?

requested to be excluded from mailings from the EO. If you find
you are not listed, please let us know so the oversight can be
corrected.

How do I add/hide my contact information to/from
the Online Directory?
|
|
Alumnae have total control over what
information appears in the Online Directory. All you need to do
is hide the information that you do not want to display. For
example, if you want only your work address to be listed, hide
your home address from your listing. Select the “VIEW/UPDATE
YOUR ONLINE DIRECTORY LISTING” from the “Online Directory
area of the community. Select the “HIDE/UNHIDE INFORMATION
FROM VIEW IN YOUR DIRECTORY LISTING”. Once there, you can
choose what pieces of information you want to hide from view.
If you are listed in the Online Directory and do not want to be,
simply go to the "Online Directory" area of the
community and choose the "VIEW/UPDATE YOUR ONLINE DIRECTORY
LISTING". Select the “HIDE/UNHIDE INFORMATION FROM VIEW
IN YOUR DIRECTORY LISTING”. Read the “ONLINE DIRECTORY
CONSENT” information and mark the “HIDE” box to have your
listing hidden from view.
Your listing will not be available for viewing and your name
will not appear in any online directory search results.
We strongly encourage you to display
your e-mail address so friends and sisters can find you and
re-connect!

Are contact information changes sent to the
Executive Office reflected in the Online Directory?
|
Only every July. If you send information
changes to the Executive Office, it will be updated in our main
database, but not in the Online Directory. We strongly recommend that
you change your information in the Online Directory additionally.
(Top
of page)
Are contact information changes entered into the Online Directory
also sent to the Executive Office?
Please be assured that any updates and/or
changes that you make to your personal record on the Online Directory
are automatically sent to the Executive Office so our main database
can be updated. This process can take up to one month to complete.
Your new information is entered by our staff into your personal record
in Alpha Phi’s main database from which the Online Directory will be
updated yearly in July.

There is a lot of information that I could add
to my record, and it seems sort of personal. Why should I enter all of
this stuff?
The Executive Office
of the Fraternity and Foundation is hopeful that alumnae will choose
to update their information using the Online Directory. It may seem
like we are asking lots of things, but the more information we have
about you, the better we can serve our members. If we know that many
of our members have children about the same age, we can create
programs and services to meet the needs of those members. The
questions may seem a bit personal, but we hope you will complete your
listing for the benefit of future services. Remember, you can always
choose to hide information that you do not wish others to view.
(Top
of page)
Should I complete the business portion of
my listing?
YES, YES, YES.
Completing the business portion of your listing allows other Alpha
Phi’s to find sisters in certain occupational areas. So many younger
sisters are looking for information and guidance about careers and by
completing this information, you can help other Alpha Phis.
